The goal of this month’s webinar is to learn about the efficacy of oral devices in treating Sleep Apnea. This webinar will cover Research collected and studies done using an oral device for treating Sleep Apnea.
Upon completion the student should:
•Understand what the efficacy of Oral Appliances in the treatment of snoring and OSA Short Term and Long term
•Understand how an Oral device is effective in treating Sleep Apnea
•Know what the statistics are in treating with an Oral Device
Dr. Lowder lectures to dentists and staff, as well as other interested groups, on Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD), dental rehabilitation procedures, splint therapy, and TM joint imaging techniques.
He has created a patient TMD screening protocol for dentists and physicians to enable rapid evaluation and diagnosis.
His current research interests include combining the benefits of splint therapy and biofeedback in the treatment of TM Disorders, and the viability of integrating user friendly articulator systems in the analysis of dental occlusion prior to major restorative dental treatment.
Dr. Lowder provides dental sleep medicine intraoral appliance therapy by physician referral at the Sleep-Wake Center at the University of Utah and at his private practice locations.
